Streamline What The Papers Say case study page 2: how it works Here’s how it works. Imagine David Beckham does something of Earth-shattering newsworthiness, such as getting a hair cut, and one of the WTPS staff wants to write about it. The WTPS content management system, known as Streamline, lets him – or her – do what reporters do best: write the words, with no programming or HTML required.

They simply “log in” to a password-protected area of the website and get typing. A link to the Beckham story immediately appears on the WTPS homepage. Another link appears on the Sports page, automatically shifting older news down the list. The story itself gets its own dynamically-generated page, accompanied by relevant links to the complete archive of stories about Man United, England and Posh Spice, plus a list of links taking readers direct to external news sources covering the story, such as The Sun, Telegraph or Guardian.

The text is immediately archived and indexed, so that it can be found by the WTPS search engine.

All from one click. And that’s just scratching the surface.
